Health Care Assistance (HCA) is a service for the fellowship and human community which focuses to provide health care assistance for those who are in need and for those who are dependent to others to able their disabilities. It deals with training in medical terminology, acquiring relevant skills and knowledge, and to study the gimmicks in taking care of new-borns, mothers, old aged, family, disabled persons and patients with the profound illness.

By choosing HCA, the students will be able to learn the practicum in fully equipped labs with articulated mannequins, medical gear & fixtures and other prototypes. Students interact with patients and they get to work at multi-speciality hospitals during the course. This program involves training the students to provide the following applications,

This is a full-time course and the duration of this course is about 34 weeks (8.5 Months). The students, after getting registered as HCA, are supervised and guided by registered nurses or licensed practical nurses.

The candidate applying for HCA courses in Canada should be 19 years or older and should have a grade 12 or equivalent graduation. It’s not mandatory for the Candidate to have a medical background to opt for this course.

An added advantage is that this is not just limited to candidates without an education gap,  people with education gap, those who did GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) and those who have a B.Sc. Nursing can also opt for this course.

This acts as a capstone course for the candidates having medical background whereas, a pathway course which is used to further the educational qualification or work in the field of nursing and health care assistance, for those who don’t have any medical background.

The Candidate can become a registered Health Care Assistant by undergoing HCA course and assessments. Once he/she is registered as HCA and worked there in Canada for 2 years, then the candidate becomes eligible for applying a Canada PR and he/she can obtain a Canadian Permanent Residency accordingly. There are more liberalisations in PR policies provided by the Canadian government for a person in the field of nursing and health care.
